Oregon Real Estate License Requirements

Everything you need to become a licensed real estate broker in Oregon — and to keep your license current.

What you need

  • License typeBroker (entry-level real estate license)
  • Education150 clock hours — 150 hours of Oregon Real Estate Agency-approved pre-license education across the required subject areas
  • Minimum age18 years old
  • PrerequisiteHigh school diploma or GED
  • State examPSI — A national portion (80 questions, 75% to pass) and a state portion (50 questions, 75% to pass)

Steps to get licensed in Oregon

  1. Complete your 150-hour state-approved pre-license education (online, self-paced).
  2. Pass the PSI real estate exam.
  3. Submit fingerprints / a background check.
  4. Apply for your license with the Oregon Real Estate Agency.

Renewal & continuing education

  • CE hours30 hours every 2 years
  • First renewalActive renewal requires 30 CE hours every 2 years. As of Jan 1, 2026 (HB 3137) this includes a 2-hour Fair Housing course plus the Law & Rule Required Course (LARRC); the first active renewal also includes the Broker Advanced Practices course.
