Washington Real Estate License Renewal & CE Tracker
Find out exactly when your Washington license renews and how many continuing-education hours you need.
Your license renews:
How Washington renewal works
- Your license expires 2 years from its issue date (Washington moved off birthday-based renewals on July 1, 2010, per RCW 18.85.191). You can renew up to 120 days early.
- 30 hours of continuing education every 2 years to renew active.
- First renewal requires 90 hours: a 30-hour Advanced Practices course, a 30-hour Real Estate Law course, a 3-hour Current Issues (Core) course, a 3-hour Fair Housing course, and 24 elective hours. A one-time 6-hour Fair Housing course applies only if fair housing was not part of your initial licensing education (in practice, pre-June-2022 licensees reinstating a lapsed license or licensed by reciprocity).
