Terms of Use
Effective date: October 13, 2026
1. Who this policy covers
This policy explains how Realestateschool.org collects, uses, and shares information about visitors and students, including students in Wisconsin.
2. Information we collect
- Account and enrollment: name, contact details, login, license number if you give it, and the courses you buy.
- Course records: progress, logged study time, quiz and exam results, completion and certificate records.
- Payments: card payments go through Authorize.Net's hosted payment form. Your card number is tokenized and never stored on our systems. Sales tax, where it applies, is calculated through TaxCloud.
- Device and log data: IP address, browser type, pages visited.
3. How we use it
To enroll you, deliver and track your course, issue certificates, report completions where required, provide support, keep accounts secure, meet legal and regulatory duties, and measure and improve our advertising.
4. Who we share it with
- The Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services and the Real Estate Examining Board. We share course and completion records with them when the law or our course approval requires it.
- Service providers that help us run the platform: payment processing, sales-tax calculation, video delivery through Vimeo, and email delivery.
- Advertising and analytics platforms as described in section 6.
- When the law requires it, or to protect our rights and students' safety.
- We do not sell your personal information.
5. Cookies and sessions
We use cookies and sessions to run the course player and keep your account secure, including logging out inactive sessions after 60 minutes. Our advertising and analytics partners also set cookies (section 6).
6. Advertising and analytics
We use Google Ads, Google Analytics, and Microsoft Advertising tags to measure our ads. When you buy, we report the transaction, including value and hashed contact details, for measurement. With your consent where required, we may share hashed email addresses for audience matching such as Google Customer Match. Platforms never receive your course records or assessment results. You can opt out of personalized ads in your Google and Microsoft ad settings, and out of our marketing as described in section 9. Students who opt out of marketing are excluded from these audiences.
7. Data security
Data is encrypted in transit with TLS (256-bit AES). Passwords are stored as one-way bcrypt hashes. Stored files are encrypted with AES-256.
8. How long we keep it
We keep student records for at least 5 years after course completion, which is Wisconsin's rule. We keep other account data while your account is active and for a reasonable time after, unless you ask us to delete it and we are not required to keep it.
9. Your choices
You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time with the link in any email or through your email preferences. We still send messages needed to deliver your course.
10. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you, in a portable format;
- Correct inaccurate information;
- Delete information, except records we must keep by law (such as the student records in section 8);
- Opt out of targeted advertising, including the audience matching in section 6.
To make a request, email support@realestateschool.org or call (425) 775-2313. We will verify your identity before acting on a request. We will not treat you differently for making one.
11. Children
Our courses are for adults. A real estate license requires you to be at least 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
12. Links to other sites
We are not responsible for the privacy practices of sites we link to.
13. Changes
When we make material changes, we will post the new policy here, update the effective date, and tell enrolled students about significant changes.
