Summary of Washington Broker License Requirements |
The State of Washington is currently in the process of implementing new laws which will change the courses agents must take to qualify to become a broker. These changes will take effect on July 1, 2010. Current clock hour requirements remain in place for those who complete their pre-license education, pass the state exam, and apply for their license prior to July 1, 2010. Any licensee who does not complete the state exam and postmark their application prior to July 1, 2010 will be subject to the new laws. Current Broker Pre-license Requirements: Pre-licensing educational requirements for the broker applicant are currently 120 hours of education with proof of 2 years of active licensure. Licensees who apply on or after July 1, 2010: After July 1, 2010; 90 hours of education will be required, including courses in brokerage management, business management, and advanced real estate law, along with proof of 3 years of active licensure. |
