Summary of Washington License Requirements |
The State of Washington is currently in the process of implementing new laws which will change the courses individuals must take to qualify to become a real estate licensee. These changes will take effect on July 1, 2010. Current clock hour requirements remain in place for those who complete their pre-license education, pass the state exam, and apply for their license prior to July 1, 2010. Any licensee who does not complete the state exam and postmark their application prior to July 1, 2010 will be subject to the new laws. Current Pre-license Requirements: Pre-license candidates need to be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or have completed a GED. Currently, the education requirement is 60 hours of education in Washington Real Estate Fundamentals a 30 hour Practices course. Licensees who apply on or after July 1, 2010: Pre-license candidates will be required to complete 90 hours of education, which will include Washington Real Estate Fundamentals plus a 30 hour Practices course. |
